My Surroundings / Locality
Our house is a 5 minute walk down a quiet residential street and through a natural bushland reserve to the nearest beach. The house backs on to a nature reserve and you can see the ocean from the first floor rooms and higher up from the roof terrace. This beautiful beach extends for miles from the nearby lighthouse to Broken Head where rainforest reaches to the beach. There are other equally lovely beaches in the main bay area which is a few minutes drive away or a 15-20 minute walk. The Gold coast is a 1 hour drive away with tourist theme parks such as Sea world and Dreamworld, as well as excellent shopping and beaches.

My Hometown
Our holiday house is in Byron Bay, Australia, a coastal village which is renowned for its natural beauty. It is very popular with overseas tourists and backpackers who have spread the word about its charms. There are many fine restaurants, shops and the usual water sports such as surfing, diving, snorkelling, fishing etc. The Gold coast is a 1 hour drive away with many tourist attractions and beautiful beaches.
